Kilimanjaro trek via the Marangu route is a popular ascent to Africa's highest peak. Highlights include lush rainforests, alpine desert landscapes, and the challenging summit day. Accommodations in huts along the way add comfort. Led by experienced guides, trekkers enjoy diverse scenery and reach Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters) before descending to Marangu Gate for certificates. It's a rewarding but demanding trek offering stunning views and a memorable experience.

Register at the Marangu Gate, complete necessary formalities, and meet the trekking team. Begin the trek through lush rainforest, enjoying the scenic surroundings. Reach Mandara Hut (2,700 m) for the first night’s stay.
Continue the ascent through moorland, with occasional views of the summit. Pass Maundi Crater and enter the alpine desert zone. Arrive at Horombo Hut (3,720 m) for the overnight stay.
Spend an extra day at Horombo Hut to acclimatize to the altitude. Optional hike to Zebra Rocks or Mawenzi Peak for better acclimatization. Rest and prepare for the upcoming ascent.
Trek through the arid lunar landscape towards Kibo Hut (4,703 m). Reach the base camp, situated close to the summit. Prepare for the summit attempt, known as the “Uhuru Peak” climb.
Start the midnight ascent to reach the summit, Uhuru Peak (5,895 m), before sunrise. Trek through Gilman’s Point and Stella Point to the summit. Celebrate the achievement and descend back to Horombo Hut for overnight rest.
Descend through the rainforest to Marangu Gate. Receive your summit certificate and bid farewell to the mountain. Transfer back to your accommodation in Arusha or Moshi.
